Extensions Care
Your Everyday, Elevated
You can live your life exactly the same—just with better hair.
Blowouts, air dries, gym days, beach days…
it all fits seamlessly into your life.
Extensions are designed to feel natural—but like anything luxury, they’re best maintained with a little extra care.
Keep styles soft and relaxed (think loose braids and low ponies)
Rinse after swimming to protect tone and texture
Be cautious with self-tanners and tanning oils
— they can transfer onto lighter extension hair and leave a residue that's tricky to fully rinse out.
Choose a mineral, extension-safe sunscreen like Sunny Sailor (sold in salon)
— traditional chemical formulas can build up over time and affect tone.
At your appointment, we’ll guide you with intentional care + product recommendations to keep your hair soft, dimensional, and healthy.
The Daily Ritual
Brush
Use our Gilded Detangling Brush to brush your extensions multiple times throughout the day to help prevent tangling and matting. Start at the ends and work upward in sections, holding the hair securely as you brush. When brushing near the scalp, support the top of the weft with your fingers to avoid unnecessary tension. Avoid brushing directly over the top seam of the wefts.
We recommend brushing:
In the morning
Before showering
After showering
Before bed
Bed
Before bed, loosely secure your hair in a low ponytail or soft bun with a silk scrunchie to help prevent tangling while you sleep. A silk pillowcase is also recommended to reduce friction and help preserve smoothness and shine.
Style
Start by gently separating the hair with your fingers and rough-drying until it is about 80% dry. Avoid pulling on the hair with a round brush or comb while it is still very wet. Once the hair is mostly dry, you can use a round brush with light tension to smooth and shape the hair. Always use heat protection before styling, and be gentle around the wefts to protect both your natural hair and the extension hair.
For curls, smooth the extension hair first by gliding the iron through once or twice before curling. This helps create a more polished, blended finish. For second- or third-day hair, refresh with a lightweight restyling spray and add a small amount of oil to the mid-lengths and ends as needed for softness and shine.
